“Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.” Psalm 16:5-6
I was reading a Lysa Terkeurst devotional this week where she wrote about God helping us to put boundaries in place because He knows that sometimes we need more time to heal before we can step outside of them. Sometimes we allow temptations in our live, distractions, that interfere with the healing that we so need.
This scripture reminds us that the boundaries that God puts in our lives are good and pleasant places. He wants us to keep our eyes on Him when we are hurting, to allow him to be our full portion and our cup. In Him we (and all of our brokenness) are secure and safe.
We are not powerless in our struggles. Perhaps we just have our focus on our hurt rather than our victory that Jesus provides.
