kcalIngredients
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 Tablespoon milk chocolate grated
14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
whipped cream for topping
ground cinnamon for topping
2 cups 2% milk
Directions
- In a medium saucepan, pour milk and heavy cream. Heat over medium high heat. Just be sure not to boil or scald the milk. Watch it carefully.
- In a medium bowl whisk together cocoa, sugar and milk chocolate. Slowly add this mixture to the milk mixture until completely combined.
- Reduce heat to medium.
- Add the sweetened condensed milk and the vanilla and stir well until completely combined. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Top with whipped cream and ground cinnamon and chocolate shavings if desired.
Notes
- The original recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups cocoa. If you want a creamier thicker cocoa like the one they serve at the Grand Californian at Disneyland, you’ll want to add more cocoa.
