DIY Wooden Bead Garland

Step 1: Gather your supplies. You will need wooden beads, jute/twine, coordinating ribbon (you don’t have to add ribbon if you want your garland to just have the jute tassel), scissors.

Step 2: Wrap the jute/twine around your fingers about 15 times. Slide the loops off of your hand and cut.

Step 3: Cut your coordinating ribbon to the same length as your jute.Mix the ribbon into the jute so that is somewhat alternating.

Step 4.  Take the end of the jute on the spool and tie a knot in the center of your jute/ribbon.

Step 5: Cut a long length of the jute. I cut it longer than I want my garland to be. Begin threading your wooden beads on the jute.

Step 6: When you have your garland as long as you want it, you will now make another tassel for this end of the garland. Repeat steps 2-4 to make your tassel. Now use the remaining jute that is left on the end of your garland (after your last bead) to tie the tassel onto the jute, knotting a couple of times.

Step 7. Finish off your tassels by gathering the jute/ribbons together and wrapping the jute around the bunch several times. Tie off with a couple of knots. You can add a drop of hot glue to make sure it holds if you like.

Step 8: The fun part! Display your garland in your home …on a mantel, a buffet, a tiered tray…or gift it to a friend!

Enjoy!
