Cute DIY Pumpkin Craft

When September rolls around, I am immediately ready to craft! (and bake). It starts to feel like Fall is just around the corner and we need to get ready!

These cute pumpkins are addictive. You can make them in a variety of sizes, any colors to match your decor and they are so so inexpensive to make! A wooden bowl full of these would be so cute!

Instructions

Items Needed

Chunky Yarn in any color
Styrofoam balls (any size)
Scissors
Something to help push the yarn through (I used a metal straw)
Serrated knife

How to Make Them:

  1. To start, use a serrated knife to cut your styrofoam ball. You want to cut both sides of the ball to get two flat sides. To get more of a pumpkin shape, cut more off the bottom than the top.

2. You then need to cut a hole in the center. You can use a knife to do this, or I also had success with an apple corer.

3. Pull about 2-3 arms length of yarn and begin threading through the center hole. It is easier to work with shorter lengths when doing this. When you reach the end of one piece of yarn, just loop the end under the piece next to it to “tie it off”.

4. When you finish, all that’ left is to cut a piece of twig to insert into the center of the pumpkin. You don’t really need to glue this as the twig will stay in place if long enough.

Easy huh? Have fun making these this year! I would love to see the pics of your pumpkins!
