Turn

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
in the light of His glory and grace.

When the weariness of this world begins to wear on you. When the voices of those who tear down rather than build up begin to be the loudest voices you hear. When the news channels and the local gossip are all that seems to draw anyone’s attention.

Turn.

Turn away from those things. Turn your mind away from them. If you need to physically remove yourself from those situations and people, do that.

Turn away from those things and towards the One who offers peace. The One who actually IS in control. We aren’t in control. Those who are negative in your world certainly aren’t in control.

The song says…Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.

The things of this world can seem so bright and glaring and loud. But when we look towards Jesus as our help and our refuge, He brings such grace that makes those worldly situations grow dim and fade away.

And what’s left is peace.
And a reality that what tries to consume you isn’t meant for you to carry.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus today. Focus on Him. Focus on His goodness, His glory and His grace. It’s all there for you.
