Tomato Blossoms

These little appetizers are great for a brunch or a shower. They can be made with refrigerated biscuits or pie crusts. This is a recipe from my sister Linnie (pictured on the right) who has all the good tea party recipes and decor ideas!

See those cute hats? She made them all. Well, she decorated them all for our tea party! That’s a great idea if are planning a tea party or Kentucky Derby party!

Tomato Blossoms

Course: Appetizers, Brunch

Tomato Blossom Appetizer

Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

  • 1 tomato chopped (Roma is good)

  • 1/2 onion, chopped

  • 3 oz shredded Swiss cheese

  • 1/2 cup mayo

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

  • 1 can buttermilk biscuits ((10 oz) or two sheets of pie crust refrigerated

Directions

  • Lightly grease mini muffin pan
  • Mix ingredients
  • If you use biscuits, separate them and cut into 4 pieces. Spread in pan and add ingredients. If you use pie crusts roll out the crust and cut shapes with 3 inch cookie cutter. Place shapes in muffin pan sections. Then add ingredients
  • Bake 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees.
