fall leaves in wnc

Unfiltered

Our little part of western North Carolina has truly been amazing this Fall. This is the look outside my front door. The sun was hitting the trees as I walked out the door in the morning and I had to grab my phone and capture it. Even our dog Gunner looked too handsome not to capture him in the front yard with the fall leaves behind him.

So much of our lives and what we see on social media is filtered. And honestly every time I accidently catch myself on my camera’s phone when it flips to a selfie mode I am thankful for the option of filters! 😀

Age can do that to ya! One morning you wake up and catch yourself in a mirror’s reflection or on your phone’s camera and Yikes! Who is that and when did ALL OF THAT happen? lol!

But there are no filters with God. Even when we try to make ourselves look better to Him, He sees us as we are…warts and all. Double chins, wrinkles, gray hairs… and He also sees the other things we try to hide…our envious hearts, our failures to share His Word and His love with others, our selfishness, our gossip…the list goes on. He sees through our attempts to filter our lives and make ourselves look better.

And He still loves us. He still invites us to spend time with Him. He still forgives.

And on mornings like this He gives us examples like the color of these Fall trees of how beautiful an unfiltered life can be.
